Due to Popular Concern,

Rio Lento and it’s team will now be allowing all types of

approved swimwear, every Monday of the week. Examples include

below the ankle, and long sleeve swimwear for women and men.

Pool Rules:

  1. Children under the age of twelve (12) must be accompanied and supervised by a paying guardian, eighteen (18) years of age or older, at all times.
  2. Pool attractions may include activities that are strenuous and inappropriate for persons with health restrictions.
    Users must be in good health.
    b. Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or any individuals under the care of a physician should not engage in strenuous activities.
    c. Users must observe and evaluate attractions for risk to personal health and safety before participating.
  3. Persons with skin disease, open wounds, nasal or ear discharge, inflamed eyes, diarrhea, or any communicable disease are not allowed in the pool.
  4. No pets of any kind, except dogs assisting individuals with disabilities, are permitted inside the enclosed area. Pets are not permitted in swimming pools.
  5. The following items represent a potential threat to pool safety and are prohibited at all swimming pools:
    Glass containers and breakable objects
    b. Chewing gum, food and drink, except items provided by Rio Lento restaurants
  6. Rubber balls, Frisbees.
  7. Inflatable tubes or rafts used solely for recreation, not as swim aids, are permissible, but only during periods of low visitation and at the discretion of pool management.
  8. Sponge rubber or inflatable balls are permissible in the designated shallow area of the pool, but only during periods of low visitation and at the discretion of pool management.
  9. All persons must wear appropriate swimming attire, acceptable to the standards of the community. No rivets, zippers, or buttons are permitted on swimming attire.
  10. Possession of Food and Drinks:
    Food and drinks may not be brought into the pool enclosure.
    b. Food and drinks, purchased from Rio concessions, are allowed only in the area designated for refreshments, except water contained in plastic bottles.
    c. Chewing Gum is not permitted anywhere inside the pool enclosure.
    d. Management must approve any exceptions for persons with disabilities or special needs regarding food and drinks.
  11. Only authorized staff is allowed in the filter building, storage rooms, chlorination building, control area, staff lounge, and manager’s office.
  12. Persons unable to demonstrate to the lifeguards their ability to swim fifty (50) feet and handle themselves well in the water will not be allowed in water over their shoulders.
  13. Spitting and blowing of nose in the pool or on the deck are prohibited.
  14. Talking to and visiting with lifeguards, who are actively scanning, is prohibited.
  15. Use of Waterslides, three (3) meter in Height or Less:
    Only one person is permitted on a waterslide at a time.
    b.Each slider must wait until the preceding user has cleared the landing area before sliding.
    c. Sliders must ride feet first, sitting down.
    d. Slides are restricted to persons weighing less than eighty (80) kilos.
    e. Handheld or loose objects (i.e. sunglasses, towels, sunscreen bottles, etc.) are not allowed on the waterslide.
  16. Diving into water less than 2.5 meter in depth is prohibited. Back dives, flips, and other dangerous actions from the side of the pool are prohibited in any depth of water.
  17. Running, pushing or horseplay is prohibited at all times inside the enclosed area.
  18. Playing with Frisbees, balls, or other projectile objects is prohibited on the pool deck.
  19. The actions and conduct of organized groups are the responsibility of group leaders. Misconduct of any group member may be considered action by the entire group, and may subject the entire group to ejection from the pool.
  20. Profanity and abusive language or behavior is prohibited.
  21. Conduct that may endanger the welfare of any patron is strictly prohibited.
  22. Rio Lento Park Authority assumes no responsibility for personal property.

Waterslide Rules:

  1. Use of the waterslide must be in compliance with all applicable Park Authority Rules for both Rio swimming pools and waterslides.
  2. Persons using the waterslide must be able to swim twenty (20) meter and handle themselves well in the water
  3. Waterslides may include activities that are strenuous and inappropriate for persons with health restrictions.
    Users must be in good health.
    b. Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, or any individuals under the care of a physician should not engage in strenuous activities.
    c. Users must observe and evaluate attractions for risk to personal health and safety before participating.
  4. Swimming attire with rivets, metal fasteners, and any hard or sharp item in the pockets are not allowed on the waterslide. Locker keys must be pinned to the front of swimwear.
  5. All persons using the waterslide must wait in turn to enter the flume’s starting tub.
  6. All persons using the waterslide must comply with the following rules for riding the flumes:
    Sliders must be at least 120 cm tall.
    b. The waterslide is restricted to persons weighing less eighty (80) kilos   c. Sliders must assume a sitting position in the flume’s starter tub and await instructions from the supervising attendant/lifeguard.
    d. No person shall enter a flume until directed to do so by the supervising attendant/lifeguard and before the landing area is clear.
    e. Pulling, propelling, or other accelerated starts into the flume are not allowed.
    f. Users must slide in a position of feet first while lying on backs with arms crossed over chests.
    g. Arms and hands must remain inside the flume at all times.
    h. Standing, sitting, kneeling, rotating, tumbling, stalling and stopping are strictly prohibited while riding the waterslide flume.
    i. Only one slider is permitted on a flume at a time. Trains or chains of sliders are strictly prohibited.
    j. Rafts or flotation devices of any type are not allowed on the waterslide.
    k. Handheld or loose objects (i.e. sunglasses, towels, sunscreen bottles, etc.) are not allowed on the waterslide.
  7. Sliders must exit the waterslide landing area immediately.
  8. Waterslides without dedicated landing pools must be closed during swimming pool safety breaks. Users must stay completely off of flumes, slide structures, and out of the water during safety breaks.
  9. Profanity and abusive language or behavior is prohibited.
  10. Conduct that may endanger the welfare of any person is strictly prohibited.
  11. Rio Lento Park Authority assumes no responsibility for personal property.
